Affiliate Networks can provide a solid source of income for anyone.  There are many resources for earning affiliate revenue, Click Bank is the one I am aware of but I'm sure there are more.   

You don't have to buy into an affiliate program in order to market their products or services, however you could recieve a larger profit if you do. 

Setting up an affiliate network isn't hard to do but you have to make sure your affiliate website or web page is seen.  This will involve using different types of advertising. 

PPC or Pay Per Click is a quick way to get your site seen and seen quickly.  This type of advertising drives targeted traffic straight to your site base on key words that you bid on and your potential customers type into the search bar.

Another way to drive traffic of a more generic nature is using Traffic Exchanges or Surf Sites.  Many will tell you that this type of traffic is useless but I can personally tell you from my own experience that it works.  You can't rely on this type of non specific traffic to build a huge customer base or build your down line but when you are just getting started every hit on your site is important and it will help you to get your site out there until you are spidered and indexed. 

 

A Directory Site, like this one play a key role in several aspects of building a business and brining validity to your website.  First people who are looking for a home business use directory sites.  And marketers looking of those valuable one way links use directory sites. 

Another way to use a directory site is through their reciprocal link exchange.  This is a service that is provided at no charge as long as you maintain a link back to the directory.  For those just starting out with a limited budget a reciprocal link is the way to go.

The range of products and services used in this type of marketing is huge, but most are single sales meaning that once the person makes the purchase, they won't be buying that product again.  Knowing this if you choose to do affiliate marketing you will want to have a wider variety of products to offer your site visitors so they will come back to your when they have other needs.

If you have little capital to invest in a traditional MLM or direct marketing program, affiliate marketing may be the right choice for you.  Remember that in order for you to make a sale, you will have to drive traffic to the site.
